ALS Global Law & Accounting is an accounting and legal practice, which has been operating for more than 40 years in the country and abroad.

The firm has local and foreign clients that are counseled by a multidisciplinary team of professionals and an international lawyer’s network and other specialists in design, planning and carrying out businesses as well as defending our clients’ rights in Court.

ALS has its headquarters in Montevideo and also possesses offices at the Free Trade Zone and in the city of Punta del Este. In 2014 ALS has inaugurated a branch in Paris, France, in order to keep close to our clients of that hemisphere and offer them a prompt response. In Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, the firm has operative links with other practices and professionals to effectively deal with regional proceedings.

Founding Partner

The founding partner and General Director of ALS Global Law & Accounting, el Dr. Miguel Angel Loinaz is currently the President of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA), an international organization with headquarters in Paris.

Graduated from the University of the Republic in Montevideo, Uruguay, he is Doctor in Law and Social Sciences and has completed post-degree studies at Institut des Hautes Etudes de l’Amerique Latine, France and at University of Bristol, U.K.

He is a specialist in Law Philosophy, Agricultural Law and Aeronautical Law. He is the current President of the UIA, manages ALS Global Law & Accounting and coordinates a network of international associates of the Firm.

He is presently the chief advisor in legal matters to the Representation of the European Commission in Uruguay and he is the Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Uruguay. At the International Association of Lawyers, before being elected as President, he was Advisor to the President and Director of International Relations.

Also in the international area, he has being Advisor to the European Institute of Public Administration, and for UNESCO.

He is member of the Interamerican Bar Association and has been a counselor of the Uruguayan Association of Political Science and International Relations as well as the Agricultural Law and Philosophy of Law Institutes.

When acting as a public official in his country, he was National Director of Energy, an office of the Uruguayan Ministry of Energy and Mining; he was part of the team in charge of the preparation of the regulating framework about Natural Gas furnishing and was a member of the Uruguayan Commission for Privatizations.

He has been an official of the Planning and Budgeting Office, unit of the Presidency of the Republic where he was in charge of the Legal Department, and he took part of many commissions related to the local development in the interior of the country.

He was Vice-president of the Conference of the WIPO in Geneva, 1994, and the same year he was Technical Director of the Uruguayan Industrial Property.

Mr. Miguel Loinaz has also been Advisor to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining in Uruguay concerning issues about Mercosur, and he was appointed representative for his country at the “Legal Framework Task Group”, which was in charge of issues of energy policies of the Mercosur.

When acting in this position, the current Director of ALS Global Law & Accounting was in charge of the coordination of the legal experts belonging to the group of energy policies in the creation process of Mercosur.

He has been advisor to many diplomatic representations in Uruguay such as those of Colombia and Greece, and to many multilateral organizations like the Training Center for Regional Integration (CEFIR), financed by the European Union.

Besides being an international lecturer regarding matters related to his specialty, Mr. Loinaz is a Consultant for subjects of strict confidentiality for various States and local governments.

An associate at ALS Global Law & Accounting, Agustina Loinaz D’Isabella is a Doctor in Law from the Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay.

She has a Master in Corporate Law from the Universidad de Montevideo; Ms.

Loinaz is presently attending post-graduate courses in International Tax Law.

Among her activities at ALS Global Law & Accounting, she is in charge of the area of Corporate Business, Legal and Tax Advisory for companies and individuals from Uruguay and abroad.

Additionally, from her specialization in identifying business opportunities, she works with wealth protection management issues for companies and individuals, corporation constitutions, and processes that involve immigration aspects and start-up either for companies or individuals.

Ms. Loinaz is a Director responsible for the Free Trade Zone Office of ALS Global Law & Accounting located in the logistic pole of Zona América in Uruguay, this being a strategic business place for foreign trade and trading in general. Accordingly, she has specialized in foreign trade, exports, customs clearance procedures and sea freight, as well as authorization proceedings, Government franchises and representation before the trade unions.

Additionally she has worked at the International Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, and has also participated in many International Arbitrations. As a member of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA), she has taken part at many technical meetings and annual seminars of this organization.

She was first prize at the “II International Competition of Commercial Arbitration” taken place in Argentina in 2009, Ms. Loinaz is the author of many articles in specialized publications.
