About Engelin Teh Practice LLC
Engelin Teh, SC
Being one of Singapore’s top litigators, Engelin was selected, in 1998, to become a Senior Counsel.
Ever since that day she continued to personally represent her clients in Singapore’s high-profile cases. Be it in an eye catching corporate dispute with a global fast-food franchise, in mind-boggling matrimonial cases or in newspaper headline reported criminal litigation.
Engelin’s forte is litigation, arbitration and mediation work. Being very meticulous, few colleagues would be able to outclass her with respect to financial analysis or investigating all legal aspects of corporate contracts and deals.
Enjoying decades long experience in court, she knows how to strategize her, and her lawyer’s cases to achieve the optimal result for the firm’s clients. Most of Engelin’s cases result in a win. Her moto is: always “under-promise and “over-deliver”.
Engelin graduated from the University of Singapore in 1978 with an LLB (Hons) and was admitted to the Singapore bar in 1979. She was appointed Senior Counsel on 10 January 1998.
The appointment of Senior Counsel, Singapore’s equivalent of Queen’s Counsel in Britain, was made by the Selection Committee which includes the Chief Justice and the Attorney-General. Engelin has also been admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales
A qualified arbitrator, Engelin has worked extensively on international commercial claims as well as construction and building matters.
Besides being a mediator on the Singapore Mediation Centre Principal Panel of Mediators, Engelin is also a CEDR accredited mediator.
Engelin is a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (Singapore Group) and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. She was an appointed tutor for the Postgraduate Law Course conducted by the Board of Legal Education of Singapore. Apart from being appointed as member of the Inquiry Panel of the Law Society where she has sat on inquiry committees, both as member and chairman, in relation to complaints against lawyers, Engelin also sits on the Disciplinary Tribunal Panel of Presidents.
